Introducing the HA32 UAV Antenna from Hemisphere GNSS

Hemisphere GNSS recently announced the launch of its all-new multi-GNSS, multi-frequency 4-helix HA32 UAV antenna. The HA32 is a high-performance antenna. It supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and Hemisphere's Atlas L-band correction service. Designed specifically for UAVs, GIS, surveying, and RTK. It is also highly suitable for applications requiring high-precision positioning and navigation.  

Proprietary Technology

The HA32 is built on proprietary 4-helix antenna technology. It provides high filtering and anti-jamming performance with LNA features such as low noise figure of 2.0 dB (typical) and up to 30 dB gain (typical). Suitable for most outdoor and harsh operating environments, the HA32 antenna is sealed in a durable and ruggedized IP67-rated enclosure. It is also equipped with an O-ring. The lightweight (40 g typical) and compact (40 mm x 75 mm) design of the antenna makes it resistant to wind when installed on UAVs. It offers easy integration with a single SMA RF connector. “We are very excited to introduce this extremely competitive entry-level UAV GNSS antenna for a wide range of positioning and navigation applications such as UAVs, GIS, and RTK,” said Miles Ware, Director of Marketing with Hemisphere GNSS.  

Hemisphere Atlas

Hemisphere’s Atlas is a flexible, scalable GNSS-based global L-band correction service which provides robust performance and correction data for GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. Atlas delivers correction signals via L-band satellites to provide sub-meter to sub-decimeter level accuracy. It leverages approximately 200 reference stations worldwide, providing coverage to virtually the entire globe. Atlas is available on all Hemisphere Atlas-capable single and multi-frequency, multi-GNSS hardware. It complements third-party GNSS receivers by using Atlas corrections with Hemisphere’s BaseLink and SmartLink capabilities. Using multi-frequency hardware, Atlas creates faster convergence times, and is robust and reliable in canopy or foliage covered areas. Atlas Basic provides users of both single and multi-frequency Atlas-capable hardware the ability to achieve better than SBAS performance anywhere in the world where the Atlas correction service is available. Atlas Basic offers a proven accuracy of 30 cm (pass-to-pass 95%) to 50 cm (absolute 95%) and instantaneous sub-meter accuracy.

Hemisphere GNSS Debuts Next-Generation S321+ and C321+ GNSS Smart Antennas

Hemisphere GNSS announced the release of their next-generation, multi-frequency, multi-GNSS S321+ and C321+ GNSS smart antennas. Hemisphere made the announcement at INTERGEO 2017, in Berlin, Germany.  

Robust and reliable

Powered by the Eclipse P326 OEM board, the smart antennas support 394 channels. They can simultaneously track all satellite signals, including: GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS. This powerful set of features makes them robust and reliable. S321+ and C321+ come standard with two long-life lithium batteries providing up to 12 hours of operation. The batteries are hot-swappable so operators can change them without stopping work, maximizing efficiency and ROI. The S321+ and C321+ combine Hemisphere’s Athena GNSS engine and Atlas L-band correction technologies with a new webUI. These smart antennas offer an unparalleled level of customer-friendly performance. Designed for the most challenging environments, these ruggedized antennas meet IP67-standard requirements. The S321+ and C321+ come in two versions, with 4G LTE optimized for either North American or international locations.  

Centimeter-level RTK

Powered by Athena GNSS engine, the S321+ and C321+ provide best-in-class, centimeter-level RTK. Athena excels in virtually every environment where high-accuracy GNSS receivers are in use. Atlas GNSS Global Corrections

The S321+ and C321+ ship pre-configured to test-drive corrections from Hemisphere’s Atlas L-band correction service. The bundled solution provides users worldwide with an easy way to utilize Atlas, including Hemisphere’s Atlas H10 service offering 8 cm 95% accuracy (4 cm RMS). They also use Hemisphere’s aRTK technology, powered by Atlas. This allows the receivers to operate with RTK accuracies when RTK corrections fail. If the S321+ and C321+ are Atlas-subscribed, they operate at the subscribed service level until RTK is restored. The S321+ is the ideal positioning system for applications such as land or marine survey, GIS, mapping, and construction. Together with SureFix, Hemisphere’s advanced processor, the S321+ delivers high-fidelity RTK quality information that results in guaranteed precision with virtually 100% reliability. Designed specifically for construction environments, the C321+ adds another system component that empowers heavy equipment manufacturers to deliver their own machine control and guidance solutions to their customers. The C321+ can pair with Hemisphere’s recently announced SiteMetrix site management software platform that helps manage all construction jobsite activities, including grade and volume checking.

Hemisphere introduces the Vector Eclipse H328 a low-power, high-precision, position and heading OEM board

Hemisphere GNSS recently announced the Vector Eclipse H328, the next offering in the company’s line of new and refreshed, low-power, high-precision, positioning and heading OEM boards. The multi-frequency, multi-GNSS H328 is an all signals receiver board. It includes Hemisphere’s new hardware platform and integrates Atlas GNSS Global Correction Service.  

New hardware platform, higher performance

Designed with this new hardware platform, the overall size, weight, and power consumption of the H328 are reduced. It offers true scalability with centimeter-level accuracy in either single-frequency mode or full performance multi-frequency, multi-GNSS, Atlas-capable mode that supports fast RTK initialization times over long distances. The H328 offers fast accuracy heading of better than 0.17° at 0.5m antenna separation and aiding gyroscope and tilt sensors for temporary GNSS outages. The 60mm x 100mm module with 24-pin and 16-pin headers is a drop-in upgrade for existing designs using this industry standard form factor. The technology platform enables simultaneous tracking of all satellite signals including: GPS, GLONASS P-code, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS. This simultaneous tracking makes it robust and reliable. The updated power management system efficiently governs the processor, memory, and ASIC making it ideal for multiple integration applications. The H328 offers flexible and reliable connectivity. It supports Serial, USB (On-The-Go with future firmware upgrade), CAN, Ethernet,and SPI for ease-of-use and integration. It also supports optional output rates of up to 50 Hz.

Integrated L-band adds support for Atlas GNSS global corrections for meter to sub decimeter-level accuracy while Tracer technology helps maintain position during correction signal outages. The H328 also uses Hemisphere’s aRTK technology, powered by Atlas. This feature allows the H328 to operate with RTK accuracies when RTK corrections fail. If the H328 is Atlas-subscribed, it will continue to operate at the subscribed service level until RTK is restored.
