SkyHopper Pro, by Mobilicom, offers a bi-directional data link specifically for commercial and industrial drones. It provides the best solution for fleet management and autonomous UAV systems.

By employing leading wireless technologies, the SkyHopper PRO delivers long-range and Non-Line of Sight (N-LOS) communication that supports multiple transmission modes.

SkyHopper PRO supports Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint communication, thereby enabling various modes of operation such as communication for multi-drone operations and drone communication to multiple ground units and viewers (receivers).

RELAY

SkyHopper PRO offers relay operation for extending long range line-of-sight and overcoming dead spots in urban or industrial areas.

In leveraging SkyHopper PRO’s relay capabilities, distance and obstacles no longer serve as barriers to reliable drone control and robust video transmission, which is required for professional drone operations.

This feature is especially important in long distance scenarios such as commercial crop fields that span 10+ kilometers. SkyHopper PRO’s relay system also helps to overcome dead spots in low altitude coverage.

NON LINE-OF-SIGHT

SkyHopper PRO offers superior non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication by using a proprietary technology to provide a robust and clear radio signal.

Merging its unique technology of advanced multiple transmit-receive antenna processing with algorithms for working with multi-path, mobility Doppler effect, reflections and clutter, SkyHopper PRO combats interferences and overcomes dead spots in NLOS conditions of mission critical infrastructures such as petrochemical plants, industrial facilities, urban areas for public safety and delivery, and more.

MULTIPLE CONTROL STATIONS

SkyHopper PRO allows for a number of control stations with the same functionality to control the same drone simultaneously with seamless handover between control stations.

This feature maximizes coverage in long ranges, such as in the monitoring of wind farms, where the drone is controlled by one autonomous control station in a given section of the wind farm, overlaps control with a second control station in a different section, and then all control is seamlessly handed over to that second control station.

This feature is also a crucial element in successful drone communication for oil shale extraction operations in open-pit mines that occupy vast areas, where the drone communication hops from a control station in one section to the next.

UNLIMITED VIEWERS – SIMULTANEOUS CONTROL

SkyHopper PRO supports drone communication to multiple control stations as well as to an unlimited number of simultaneous viewers (receivers).
For example, for our customers in the film industry, SkyHopper PRO enables multiple operators to simultaneously control different aspects of the drone – one operator controls the drone’s flight, while the other controls the camera.

SkyHopper PRO’s “Unlimited Viewers” feature enables security teams of large events to successfully mitigate dangers and accidents by its ability to simultaneously distribute real-time video to patrollers, response teams, and other security personnel for more efficient action and faster response times.

Furthermore, thanks to its synchronized transmitting and receiving capabilities, SkyHopper PRO can operate several independent yet synchronized drone-controller Point-to-Point communication links simultaneously in same area without one interfering with the other.

BROADBAND LINK ENABLING REAL-TIME FULL HD VIDEO

SkyHopper PRO delivers real time full HD video by connecting an IP camera through the Ethernet connection or by pre-ordering the device with an integrated video encoder, enabling the direct plug-in of HDMI or AV interfaces.

By broadcasting the highest quality 1080p video wirelessly over the air at a Glass-to-Glass low latency, you can now monitor critical infrastructures and view live video streaming from your drone with the highest resolution.

FAQ

SkyHopper Pro supports any UAV or drone.

SkyHopper Pro supports any IP Camera or camera connected to an Encoder. The aerial unit will also support any camera with an HDMI or analog output.

UAV Navigation, MicroPilot and Pixhawk flight controllers are supported by SkyHopper PRO, all using RS232 / UART in Native mode.

SkyHopper PRO works on the 2.4GHz ISM band, therefore no regional settings are required.

SkyHopper PRO coexists with any device that works on a different band of frequency, such as backup control or telemetry that works on a different frequency.  If using the same band, but a different frequency, SkyHopper coexists as well, however performance may be reduced slightly.

SkyHopper Pro works on the 2.4GHz ISM band with a bandwidth of 4.5 and 8.5MHz. It is based on the different configurations.

You can use any frequency between 2400 MHz to 2485 MHz.

The number of systems varies with respect to different areas and scenarios. It is dependent on the distance between the systems, the difference in frequencies (near/far conditions), other systems (i.e. Wi-Fi), etc.

SkyHopper Pro has a transmission range that exceeds 5km Line-of-Sight. This distance can more than double by leveraging its relay feature as well as with its ability to communicate with multiple control stations.

Yes. SkyHopper Pro supports any antenna. Antenna adapter cables (MMCX connector) can be purchased separately. You can use a sectorial antenna for the ground station, which gives you more gain. For the aerial unit we supply 2 dBi Omni antennas. Omni antennas with more gain are usually too long for drones. Omni antennas are recommended for use with drones.

SkyHopper Pro has a low latency of less than 25msec.

SkyHopper Pro supports any IP Camera. The device can also include upon purchase a video encoder that can support 2 video inputs: HDMI and analog., pulvinar dapibus leo.

Yes. SkyHopper Pro supports any type of VoIP. SkyHopper Pro includes an Ethernet port so you can use an “on the shelf” audio solution that works with Ethernet (we are a Layer 2 device so the integration is plug and play).* With the purchase of the integrated encoder, the SkyHopper Pro will include an audio in / audio out connector (audio jack).

The supplied antennas are Omni 2dBi (360°).

SkyHopper Pro is managed via web browser (Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari). All you need is an Ethernet connection to the unit.

*Future release will include Android and IOS application.
